Scented tea belongs to the category of reprocessed tea. It is made by steeping the flowers, leaves, or fruits of plants. Taking advantage of tea's ability to absorb foreign odors, fragrant flowers and fresh tea are steeped together. After the tea absorbs the fragrance, the dried flowers are sieved out, resulting in scented tea with a strong aroma and a dark liquor color. Scented tea is primarily made using green tea, black tea, or oolong tea as the base, combined with fragrant flowers as raw materials, through the process of scenting.

Scented tea can be subdivided into herbal tea and flower-fruit tea. Herbal tea is made from leaves or flowers, such as lotus leaf and stevia leaf. Flower-fruit tea is made from fruits, such as figs, lemons, hawthorns, and momordicae grosvenorii fruits. Depending on the type of fragrant flowers used, scented tea can also be classified into jasmine tea, magnolia tea, osmanthus tea, and clove tea, among others, with jasmine tea being the most produced.

Scented tea has the effects of soothing the liver and regulating qi, strengthening the spleen and stimulating appetite, antioxidants, anti-aging, beautifying the skin, and improving body immunity. While enjoying the delicious taste and aroma of scented tea, one can also gain physical and mental health and pleasure.
