Yunnan green tea, also known as Dian green tea, is mainly produced in areas such as Lincang, Baoshan, Simao, Dehong, and the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. The production process of Yunnan green tea mainly includes steps such as fixation, rolling, and drying. It has tightly twisted leaves with a greenish or brownish gloss. When brewed, the liquor color is bright yellow-green or tender green with a rich and pure aroma, sometimes with notes of beans or flowers. Its taste is strong and mellow, characterized by a heavy bitterness that gives way to a good sweet aftertaste.
Yunnan green tea comes in a variety of types, including Nanluo Baihao, Dianqing, Yiliang Baohong tea, Dianchi Yinhao, Fengqing Early Spring Green, Moguo tea, bamboo tube fragrant tea, Yunnan Kunming Shilicang tea, Biyunxiancha, and many others. Among them, Nanluo Baihao, Yunnan Quluo, and Lvchun Mayu tea are the outstanding varieties of Yunnan green tea.
Yunnan green tea is best brewed with water at a temperature of 80 to 90 degrees Celsius and can generally be infused 3 to 5 times. The amount of tea leaves and steeping time can be adjusted according to personal taste when brewing.
